Here is the latest port and event information:

Sat July 29, Sun July 30 Boothday: The Commodore’s Dinner will be Sunday. Thanks to Marilyn Snyder for once again organizing our dinner which will be in the newly air conditioned room.

Jax also reported that the new docks were being put in as well as interior renovations, a market for merchandise, provisions and a small coffee shop. The shower and laundry will be 24/7. Many improvements for us to enjoy.

Mon July 31 Cruisers Choice: If you prefer not to go directly to the next port, Camden, Tenants Harbor and Rockland are good layovers.

Tues Aug 1 Camden: We are fortunate to have Peter Ralston speak to our group on Tuesday, followed by dinner. Peter Ralston has photographed the coast of Maine since 1978 and is co-founder of the Island Institute. He is passionate about Maine; its coast and its people.

Wed Aug 2 Cruisers Choice: Stay in Camden another night, stop in Castine or Bucks Harbor or proceed directly to SouthWest or NorthEast Harbor

Thurs Aug 3, Fri Aug 4: We are aware that it has been difficult securing a dock or mooring in NE as the moorings are first come, first served. However, we are working with NE and hope to have some assistance from the them. We will keep you updated. Wherever you are on Thursday, be sure to be at NorthEast by 11:00 on Friday. Some of our power boaters have graciously offered to take us up Sommes Sound, stopping for lunch at Abel’s Lobster Pound. The scenery is gorgeous and the lobster delicious!

Sat Aug 5: end of Cruise

We have some other fun events in the works:  another scavenger hunt created by Peter and Janet Barnet, a book group reading The Midcoast by Adam White, an appetizer cook-off and a return to Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay.

It wouldn’t be a BYC cruise without Swag! Deb has found the perfect microfiber bath towel and face/hand towel, quick drying, with a tab for easy hanging, in a mesh bag. The bags from last year were such a hit we’ll have them again as well. And, there will be hats!

In the coming weeks both event and Swag sign ups will be operational on the BYC cruise website.

You received this email either because you have signed up for 2023 or you participated in 2022. If you are not planning to join us this year, let me know and I’ll remove your name. There’s still time to sign up for 2023. If you’re hesitant because you’d rather go south, the cruise will probably be going there next year - and we’ll miss your company this year!
